This is a painting from the Thus spake Zarathustra series. It represents Nietzsche's Zarathustra and also Isaac the Blind -- Rabbi Yitzhak Saggi Nehor.

"And the blindness of the blind one, and his seeking and groping, shall yet testify to the power of the sun into which he hath gazed,- did ye know that before?"

 

Isaac the Blind has gazed into this "sun" -- the sun of Knowledge..

 

By the way the red string of the left hand's wrist was worn by all Eleusinian Mysteries participants, because it was considered that blood-hungry souls of dead people erroneously took the red string for a real blood and as a result the Eleusinian Mysteries participant turned out to be invulnerable...
To participate in the Mysteries means to be in contact with dead people too and these contacts are very dangerous for those living people who are not prepared correctly
